16 more persons discharged after completing quarantine period in Srinagar | KNO

1772 persons discharged so far after successfully completing their quarantine

Srinagar, Apr 08 (KNO): Sixteen (16) more persons who were shifted into administrative quarantine in Srinagar two weeks ago were discharged Wednesday after successfully completing their 14-day quarantine period. All these persons belonged to Srinagar district.

Upon being discharged all these persons were ferried home in an SRTC bus the administration had arranged for their convenience. Concerned supervising officers oversaw their discharge and their transportation.

The group like all others before was under thorough medical supervision throughout their quarantine period and was discharged after clearance from doctors and health authorities –(KNO) Two arrested, illegal cultivation of poppy plants destroyed in Reasi Srinagar, Apr 08 (KNO): In its continuous drive against the illegal cultivation of Poppy plants, Reasi police on Wednesday said that two persons were arrested and illegal cultivation of poppy plants destroyed in the district.

Police officials told wire service—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that on the information of reliable source, a police party of police post Jyotipuram led by Inspector Ravi Kumar raided at village Lamsoora Tehsil Bhomag District Reasi apprehended two persons identified as Puran Singh, son of Punjab Singh and Chhatter Singh, son of Sansar Singh both residents of Lamsoora Tehsil Bhomag District Reasi who were indulging in cultivation of illegal Poppy Plants.

During the examination of fields, it surfaced that the poppy plants were cultivated by the above mentioned accused persons in their fields measuring about 4-5 Kanals. “The poppy plants were destroyed on spot in the presence of Magistrate. In this connection, case FIR No.37/2020 under section 8/15/18 of NDPS Act stands registered at Police Station Reasi and investigation of the case is going on,” police said –(KNO)
